How UdharPay Was Validated Before a Single Line of Code Was Written

Before committing weeks of development, one critical question needed answering:

Four hypotheses needed validation before a rupee was spent on development:

• Credit collection is a genuine, painful problem for small businesses
• WhatsApp reminders are preferred over SMS solutions
• A UPI QR code inside the reminder is a must-have, not a nice-to-have
• ₹299/month feels justified against the ROI

The risk: spending 5–6 weeks building a product nobody wanted to pay for.

A 12-question Google Form was designed to test all four hypotheses simultaneously, distributed across:

Five in-person shop visits in Nagpur supplemented the digital responses, giving qualitative depth to the quantitative data.

Two unexpected insights changed the product before it was built — preventing at least two unwanted features from ever being developed.
